So, I have a question for you guys:
What do you think about the Permanent Accounts?

Worth it? Not worth it? I can't *really* afford it right now (although with how the CND$ is doing, it's probably never going to be cheaper) and I haven't spent anywhere close to $150 on my LJ so far, but my paid time is coming to an end, and I'm wondering if I should just bite the bullet and get a permanent account.

I'm one of those people who sometimes uses their LJ and other times abandons it for months, *but* I use my livejournal e-mail address for *everything*. And I really mean everything (I like how I can change what e-mail it's sent to, I used to have it go to my school account, but now that's gone, I had it go to my hotmail for a while, but now mostly use gmail). Even if I never touched my LJ again, I'd probably still use my livejournal e-mail.

Is anyone here planning on buying one?

I was going to but now I'm not largely due to the fact that after Strikethrough I don't trust LJ or that fandom will stay on LJ as well as it doesn't make fiscal sense for me right now. If it's worth it to you though, go for it as it does make sense if you plan to stay on LJ for a long time.

Nope. When LJ gets bought out/sold to the highest bidder and turns itself into Myspace, permanent accounts will be useless anyway.

I'm hoping to get a permanent account eventually. I don't have the money at the moment since I'm poor and can barely afford groceries (and yet I managed to pull together the $75 for the deposit on my class ring...).

Even if fandom moves away from LJ, there are still other things keeping me here.

I'd really like to buy one, but can't afford it right now. On the other hand, I don't know if I will still be here in five years (when it starts to pay off).

Yeah, I realize that things change, and maybe in a few years no one will use LJ anymore, kukalaka was saying that it would take 5 years before you'd even start saving, but my motivation more than no adds and extra user pics is the e-mail address....

I don't know, I kind of want, but I was a bit shocked to realize how expensive it was.

The thing is, I actually do have the money right now, it's just, I'm, going to have to pay for school come September. Also, I just went and spent over $100 on DVDs, so I can't really justify it... :S

Still, I wants. And yeah, even if I never use my LJ again, it might be worth it just for the e-mail, and the memories I have here.

It's definetly allot of money for an email account. I personally wouldn't do it IMO

I know, I think I'm probably going to cave and get one. Even if I end up not using my lj itself, I use the e-mail address for everything, so it'll probably pay off.

Although I just wasted $2 paying to renew my user pics, at least I only got it for 2 months instead of the whole year....

I kind of plan to stay. I mean unless my flist totally died, I'd still be here. A mass exodus would never really work, because people are too happy here. It may happen gradually, I know that after QaF finished a lot of my flist died out, or moved onto things I wasn't necessarily interested in, but the thing is, a flist keeps changing, and you can always find people to talk to.

To be honest, I can't really hold a grudge against LJ for Strikethrough. Yeah it kind of sucked, but it all worked out.

Although LJ has been acting really wonky lately, like I didn't get an e-mail saying you had made a comment, and weird things are happening a lot lately. I think maybe it's a sign that I shouldn't get one :P

I'm still not on as much as I used to be when we talked all day, but I've been slowly coming back to LJ. I've been making thinky posts, and commenting.

I miss you too you know. You were my first BFF on-line, and you're still the best one I've ever had :)

Now to see if I can convert you to some of my new fandoms *cackles*

ohh well I don't know if you sae Bloodties which is based in Canada, and about vampires, I got into that, and I watched showtimes henry the Eight`, what are your latest fandoms?

I've heard of Bloodties, but I haven't watched it. So you think I shoulod add it to my to-watch list?

As for my fandoms, I'm still in the Stargate Atlantis fandom, and more recently the Numb3rs fandom. Rob Morrow is my new Gale Harold. *drools*
