A few of my coworkers have had the surgery and they've all been really pleased. I'm not eligible for it myself, but be sure to keep us all updated. In case it ever becomes an option for me, I'd like to hear about it first hand.
OMG when I went to reply to this comment, I pressed the wrong link and almost banned you from my LJ! :S Not good.
I managed to talk my best friend into getting it done last year (mostly because I really wanted it myself) and it seems to being going well for her (but getting details from raxhel is like pulling teeth). I've *heard* that things can go wrong, but I've never met anyone who has had something go wrong (well except my grandmother, but she was going in for a different kind of laser eye surgry, and really her eyes were so bad they were just doing damage control not trying to give her her vision back), and casually, I've met a lot people who have had it done. So I'm hopeful. I hate wearing glasses.
I'm not eligible for it myself I'm hoping that since my eyesight isn't bad that won't be an issue (also, that it'll be less expensive, the place I have the appointment with advertises "prices starting at $490 per eye" but I'd be happy if it stayed under $2000). Leagally I can't drive without my glasses, but I wouldn't be at much of a disadvantage if I was never able to wear glasses again, I'd just squint a lot.
be sure to keep us all updated. In case it ever becomes an option for me, I'd like to hear about it first hand. I'll do my best, my appointment isn't until January though.
I need my eyes for seeing!
