If she's anything like my cats, she wasn't actually going for the bread--she wanted the butter. Mine will lick the butter off a piece of bread if I'm ever dumb enough to leave it where they can get to it. Although they do chew open bread bags. They don't actually eat the bread, but they'll chew it open so that I can no longer eat it. Very strange.
I'm lucky enough I can sleep through damn near anything (thus, the needing so long to actually wake up to my alarm) and I've slept through Itty Bitty (the boy cat that stays with my mom) crying very loudly to be let out of my room at midnight. Also Tassie (the girl who stays with Mum) doing the same thing but at 0600.
Still, as much aggravation as they can be, I hate not having them. I can't remember a time (outside living in the dorm) when we didn't have cats. Plus, they say they're supposed to help you live a longer, more fulfilling life. Stress reduction or something. Not sure I follow that, but I guess I can sort of buy it.
