I totally agree with this, and it's one of the main reasons we changed our policy on Kawoosh! and The Impala Oh, did you used to not have to have your vids hosted? I know that when I first got into Stargate and wanted to check out vids, I actually found the SG Music Awards, which lead me to find your site, and it was awesome. Also, I find it completely awesome that there are video archives. You see a billion and one fic archives out there, but other than the ones you run, the only other fanvid archive I know of is amv.org. I wish all fandoms had vid archives (is your coding open source? Because I think one of the main reasons why there aren't more vid archives is because there isn't any software available...).
Also, I think vidders who don't collate all thier vids onto a webpage are disadvantaging themselves And really that's what gets me the most about all this. Even if people say they write/vid/whatever for their own enjoyment, getting feedback is still nice. I know that whenever I get feedback, it always makes me want to vid more. It's not the reason why I love vidding, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a big motivation for me. Most archives out there allow you to remove your material whenever you want, I don't get why you wouldn't spread your work out wherever. Keep a list if you're paranoid, only choose places that give you the power to remove your work whenever you choose, but why close yourself off?
