*hugs* Having just had my house turned upside down by builders, you have my sympathy.

If you do decide to get new stuff, keep the taps you have (assuming they're tolerable). A new toilet and bath probably won't set you back that much, but taps and accessories are stupidly expensive. It's how they make their money.
