Hey! drunkoffthestars sent me here, since I've been compiling various user requests over on my journal, on the grounds that at least it'd be in one place as reference for anyone interested (whether or not I end up involved in it, at least I can help with the requirements). I'm currently compiling the 200-something replies, requests, comments, and whatnot, into something a bit more logical/readable, and adding in suggestions/requests I find elsewhere, like on the pinboard. I'm hoping to have that ready for everyone's review tomorrow.
Some of what you've mentioned overlaps or is similar to what's been requested in the responses, but some of it's going past what the replies I got. (I think it's a matter of sometimes, people aren't sure about just HOW BIG they're allowed to dream. It seems to be related to the idea that Coding Is Kinda Intimidating, so people step back sometimes.) Do you mind if I reference some of your ideas, and just link to this post for anyone who wants to find out more?
The crazy thing is, the squirrel, err, SQL part of my brain is already building the tables in my head. And here I swore I wouldn't be involved to that degree, but hell. If I come up with the SQL tables, there's got to be a few geeks out there who could (hopefully) look 'em over and improve on them. Well, improvement, definitely, since I'm not a fulltime SQL/PHP person. I only do it freelance, really. But still, it's like one gigantic puzzle, mixing and matching and making stacks and whatnot, and my brain can't resist a good puzzle!
