It's so awesome how excited everyone is at my joining this fandom. *hugs everyone*
Thanks for the fic recs, I'll definitely check them out. :D
And BBB, oh man, I'm having such confused thoughts/feelings wrt podfic and bandom. I have no internal voices for the many (many, many) members of bandom and I'm not sure how comfortable I feel trying to voice them. I discovered how discombobulating it was for me to read them for the #informaltwitterpodficexchange (and, man, I'm so lazy at watching interviews or whatever to develop internal voices :P). I'm sure I'll get over it though.
But I'll admit, Bandom's enthusiastic embracing of podfic (things like BBB and BRBB making room for podficcers, the wide range of voices, all my twitter friends, etc.) was a huge part of what eventually drew me to it. American Idol is pretty good at receiving podfic (my download counts were always pretty high and I even received a fair number of comments) but it it was never a very big community of creators. Like, over half the total number of hours of podfic is all from one podficcer. I'd spend a lot of time and energy trying to entice people into podficcing for AI or making podfics myself so I'd have something to listen to. Which is all to say, I'm looking forward to being in a fandom where, if I want more podfic, I don't have to work for it.
