Oh yay, I love being mentioned in other people's posts! *claps* :P
I read a QAF post-S5 fic where Gus was sick or injured or something, and Brian flew to Toronto to be with him. Several things irritated me about this fic:
1. Gus was at North York General Hospital, which is a hospital I have spent a lot of time at, since my sister was being treated there both as an inpatient and an outpatient for several months. I cannot imagine the lesbians living in North York, I think of them as more vibrant heart-of-the-city dwellers. I have no idea why they would have taken Gus to NYGH, rather than one of the downtown hospitals, of which Toronto has many.
2. Brian and Justin checked into their fancy hotel, which was near the hospital. There are no fancy hotels near NYGH. There's an IKEA across the street where you can lie on the beds, but I'm pretty sure they kick you out at closing time.
3. On the way from the airport to the hospital, Brian had to pull over and vomit *in the grass* at the side of the road. I highly doubt there's any grass on the side of the 401.
4. This was the biggie: Brian got to the hospital, and *whipped out his credit card* to pay for the stay. I was like, "WTF? What's he going to do with that?" One would think they would have set to work getting their children OHIP cards right away. Kids do tend to get sick and hurt themselves pretty often.
