LJ Help!

Grrr...
So, I've been thinking about changing the look of my LJ. Quite frankly, the layout I made sucks. A lot.

And my mood theme is still the Justin one made by kitkatbyte, which I love, but I've been using since I got a paid LJ, and also, I never got around to changing it from being hosted on her site to being hosted on mine, and she'd probably like it if I stop stealing her bandwidth.

I found this really nice McShep moodtheme by nellhowell but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get it to work! I uploaded the pics, set the permissions on all of them to 755, and followed her instructions which involved a lot of typing in URLs for each pic, and it didn't work. I tried doing it the way kitkatbyte explained (which worked when I originally uploaded her mood theme).

But still, no matter what, when I go and look at the mood theme it says "no image". I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong! I even checked the URLs and they work if I just throw them into the address bar. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

i have maybe an idea where your trouble might be (though no clue why nellhowell's version didn't work, although it's waaaaaay too much work that way anyways O.o). can't find kitkatbyte's original moodtheme post with her instructions, though, so i don't really know what you did. i assume it involved using the admin console, though?

I have no idea why the hell it's not working. Also, trying to change my layout is making me cry. Gah, this is why I hardly ever change my layout *whimpers*

which set of instructions did you follow? the last one? what output did it give you after you executed?

changing layouts suck. that's why i always try to stick to mine as long as i can. alas, sooner or later the time for a change comes. but i know what you're going through. *pets*

I tried both. Bith of them said that the image wasn't working.

When I tried nellhowell's (3 times no less), I would put all of URLs in, and when I clicked save, it would take me to my list of moods. I would see some preview pics for my Justin moodtheme, but it would just say "no image" for the SGA one. When I clicked on it, it would list all the moods, but there wouldn't be any pictures.

When I tried kitkatbyte's instructions, I used the file that she said to, except, I chenged the ID# to the one give, the URL from her's to mine, and removed the dimensions.

I think something is going wrong when I try to save it. When I click the edit button for my Justin mood theme, there are the URLs listed for each, when I click on the SGA one, all the URL boxes are blank, no matter what I put in them, once I click save, it'll take me back to the main mood theme page, but when I go back to edit, they're all empty.

I don't know what else I should be pressing. There aren't really any other buttons. Grrr. At least I got the layout working.

hum. have you tried making a whole new moodtheme with kitkatbyte's instructions? have you tried uploading one of the pics to e.g. photobucket or imageshack and see if it saves/shows up then?

Yeah, I've made a couple different mood themes. All of them are turning out this way.

I've only tried uploading them to the one spot, but seriously, I don't know why that isn't working, since the images I'm using for my layout are coming from the same place. Maybe I'll try moving them anyways.

i'd try it with just a couple images and see if the problem is really the place where they're hosted or something else, y'know? trying to narrow down the problem.
