Seriously I went and read the whole Globe and Mail article, and thought the ending was well said. You can go and talk about saving the country/world all you want, but what happened to Mr. Arar didn't save the world, all it did was ruin a mans life, and that's the kind of thing they want to leave wiggle room for? God.
