So, at the moment we're watching the FIFA Poland vs. Brazil game. I think the only reason why it's making TV here is because the games are being held in Canada this year (which is kind of sad, since no one here really cares).
Watching the game, and comparing it to the hockey was recently watching, I've come to the conclusion that the people of Canada/N. America would like watching it more if the soccer players weren't such pussies.
For god's sake they trip and they stay down rolling around the field as if they can't get up just to stop the game.
In hockey, if you go down, and don't get up, chances are you're out of the game because you're hurt so badly. It just leaves me kind of disgusted watching these pro soccer games. :S

I hate that too. The women don't do it. If they got fouled, they get up quickly and go on playing.
The German team Bavaria Munich has a lot of pussies and they really annoy me. The Italians and Brazilians are also very bad when it comes to that. :-\

I honestly think all the diving will stop me from ever really watching pro-soccer. I've watched it live a few times (my sister and uncle play) and haven't hated it. I just don't watch sports that often. But see these so called professionals rolling around on the ground like someone just tried to kill them makes me want to flip the channel faster than anything else.
Actually I remember hearing about a commercial/video during the last big FIFA games that was called something like "Training with the Italian Team" (I think it was Italy, could have been another team) and when you watched the video it was of all of the team members doing dives, and rolling around in fake pain :P What does that tell you.

Hehe. I don't have problems with that. We complain about that a lot.
"Training with the Italian Team" (I think it was Italy, could have been another team)
That definitely sounds like Italy. That's actually how the get into the Quarterfinal (they got a penalty in the last minute because one of those idiots dived). I was so mad. I screamed so loud at my tv that the whole neighbourhood could hear me. Me hates Italy very much.
I'm not really patriotic when it comes to soccer. My favourite team is Portugal (though they are good actors too). But the German team of last year was really great and I loved them too.

I'm actually pretty patriotic when it comes to sports in general. I'll cheer for my local team, or tha Canadian team no matter the sport. Unless it's hockey and the Maple Leafs. I always say, I cheer for two teams, the Senitor's and who ever is playing the Leafs :P

I think American football is about the last sport I'd sit down and watch... Every once in a while my dad'll be watching those sports shows where they show the top 10/20/100/whatever, blunders/best moves/best games/whatever, and there's always a ton of football stuff in it, and half the time I don't even know what the heck I just watched, let alone why I'm supposed to be impressed by it. :P
And they're pussies, too! Do they really need all that padding? No!
I don't actually have a problem with padding. It's always so sad when someone's career is over because of a stupid injury, so I'm all for the padding. :P
(although I usually confuse the hell out of people and call it football)
That was something that confused the hell out of me in China, which is it? They're very British in their vocabulary, but they're moving towards American English. I think it really came down to whatever the person had been taught.
