OMG
So, I have this habit, where if I come across fic on my flist that sounds like I might enjoy, I just open it in a new tab. I generally open more than I can read, so once I get too many I transfer the links to a "to read" list. I started transferring some yesterday, but got bored and stopped. I just checked to see how many tabs I have open (in one of my *5* windows) and I have *67* open. Wow, that's a bit extreme, even for me. I blame all the gift exchange comms.

So instead I have an e-mail draft (well a couple, so that they're separated by fandom) that I post links to along with a description of whatever made me want to read it.
Once I go read it, I just delete it from the list.
God bless the SGA fandom and it's prolific-ness, my to-read e-mail is 40 pages long, so I always have a variety to choose from. :P

Re: Recs
But I'd also like to justify a few things:
1) I'm a hopeless romantic, so there's next to no gen (and probably a lot more harlequin type fics than normal).
2) As you said, fandom relates a lot of emotional involvement with sex, as a result, I generally read NC-17 stuff (even though half the time I skim or skip over sex scenes *shrugs* I also *refuse* to read stuff off of ff.net because they bad higher rated stuff). Oddly, the porn I do read, tends to be kinky.
3) As I said, I include a little description of the fic, whatever made me think I would want to read it and I have a lot of links from
4) As I mentioned I'm an emotional reader, so there are some fics that strike me when I'm in a mood, but spend forever on the list because I'm never in that mood again. Which leads to
5) My list is constantly being edited (I just moved over about 50 tabs last night actually), and the ones that sound good, I read first and delete from the list, and some of the ones that just sound ok, stay on longer.
And after that scary list of justifications, are you still interested :P
