Ottawa has a decent transit system, but I live out in the boonies, There is a park and ride on my way into work, but it's so close to my work that it would be stupid to use it. Also my work is off of most of the bus routes so it would probably take me over an hour to get to work from the park and ride, while it only takes me 15 minutes to drive it (I'm not even joking, I had to bus it a couple times when I was going to school near the park in ride and didn't have a car. It would take on average an hour to make the short distance).

Can you get the bus/train down? Or would it be more expensive?
Taking the train down would be super expensive. It's like twice the price of taking a bus. I wonder why anyone would take the train, sure it's a *little* more comfortable than a bus, but it's not any faster, and is less likely to take you to a location close to where you want to end up.
The bus might be less expensive. I know that it used to be about the same as the gas required to drive down, that was a few years ago, and the gas was cheaper then, so if the price of tickets haven't gone up it might be, but they probably have gone up. Also, I make a couple stops along the way so it really is easier to drive up for now. But I'll probably start busing it soon, if only because I'm hoping to move out and I won't have access to my parents car :)
