OMG People

Oh god, I almost drove off the road this morning when passing a gas station. $1.20! WTF!? Why, there is no ryhme or reason for these super high gas prices! This is ridiculous! I'm suppose to drive past Toronto and back this weekend! This is going to be so painful. When I first started to make the drives from Ottawa to Guelph it cost me $40 to fill up the tank, I'm afraid to find out what it's going to cost this time, but I'm thinking between $60-$70 :S

I swear, when I finally break down and buy a car, I'm going to hold out until I can afford a hybrid. (I was seriously considering buying a bike yesterday and that was *before* this sudden hike!)

And this is why I am glad I live in a big city with public transit (okay, so they may be going on strike on Monday, but I agree with them, they get treated like ASS and I have a Union in with my Mum (she doesn't work for the same union, but they all talk with each other) and the shit that goes down is ridiculous).

I bike + TTC it everywhere. Can you get the bus/train down? Or would it be more expensive?

Gas prices are ridiculous across the board, but they're even worse there than they are here. My mom's thinking about buying a new car and I can't convince her to get a hybrid no matter how hard I try. I wish I could. Hell, I wish I could afford a hybrid myself, although I don't really know any details about the financial cost/benefit. Still, it seems it's got to be better than a non-hybrid. I'm just hoping that by the time I can afford a new car, hybrid technology will have improved significantly.

I was about to say "OMG, DUDE. It's like $3.99 here, how can you complain about $1.20?" and then I realized that duh, you mean per liter, not per gallon, and then I realized that omg, woah, that is a LOT, even worse than here, and now I feel really bad for everyone who has to pay that much. Cripes. Somebody needs to get to work on solar-powered cars or something.

We pay like a $1.40, and our state actually gets a 10c rebate from the government, and the other states pay 1.50-1.60 a litre. And it costs about $80 for me to fill the tank :( Tis absolutely ridiculous though. -.-
