Man, Amazon is having a one day sale where you can buy Seasons 1-10 of SG-1 on DVD for $116.99. I really, really want to buy them! With shipping and exchange rates, that comes out to like $15 a season. I don't currently own any of them, so it's not like I'll have duplicates if I do buy them. And it'll be a lot easier than borrowing my cousins DVDs for the rewatch I'm doing with

maekala and

equusentric.

But I just bought S4 of SGA and The Ark of Truth, so I really shouldn't be buying more DVDs right now... I kind of want to throw Continuum in too, but it's not out yet, and I'd end up waiting forever for them to be delivered *looks it up* Actually, I could wait until July....

Gah! This is why I suck at saving money.

I think I might cave and buy them both. :-/ It's the damn shipping, I keep telling myself that the more I buy, the more I save.

The little "If you bought X you might like Y" links are evil. Now I'm looking at Stargate Infinity. Has anyone on my flist seen this series?

Randomly, I was just writing up notes for a contract, and totally put SGC down instead of CSC (Customer Service Centre). I think I'm angsting about these DVDs too much :P

I know I'm very tempted. This is a fabulous price. I'm a little concerned that they're still having issues with scratched disks, but the reviews look like people haven't had much trouble when they return them for new ones. I just don't want to go through that trouble.

I've seen Infinity available at Best Buy and Hastings and places, but I'm not sure I want to buy it yet. I've seen a couple of the eps and they're...well, it's Stargate Light for kids AU. I can send you the pilot if you like. Plus, I'm thinking of looking for a torrent. I know if I can find a used copy of it for super cheap, I'll get it to complete my collection. But right now the super cheapness of SG-1 is overwhelming my thoughts.

I know, it's such a good deal (as you saw, I've been spreading the news around :P) but I hadn't heard that there were issues with scratched DVDs... :S

Yeah, I think I'll just try downloading it instead. I had heard of it a couple times, but I didn't know what it was before today. I was looking it up and it sounded interesting as I wrote this post but then I started reading the user comments for it on Amazon and decided it wasn't worth buying right now. Not sight unseen.

I saw that in my email this morning.... And even though I own all 10 seasons, it's still way uber tempting.

I haven't seen Infinity... I think someone uploaded it a while back (maybe?). All I know is that it's animated :P

I don't really like the shiney box that they come in, but for that price, I'm willing to put up with it :P

As for Infinity, I think I'm just going to leave it for now, I've seen downloads for it too so I'll try those before I consider buying them. I don't actually have a very high tolerence for cartoons so I probably won't like them anyways.

I'm saving up right now to buy a house but it can be hard to resist things when you have a large chunk of money sitting in your savings account :P

*sigh* With my current salary, I'm going to have to spend the next 5 years saving up to by anything in this area. I'm going to need like a 50% downpayment (you don't happen to have about $70,000 lying around to give away, do you? ;) or something that my grandkids will still be paying off with the prices out there. I need to get a boyfriend or something so it's not just a single income going in.

Because it looks like it'll be forever before I reach my goal it just seems so much easier to buy things now. It's not like I can't not buy things for the 2 years.

I think I will end up buying these but I'm going to wait to talk to my cousin first, since he has all the individual seasons DVDs and then got the box set for christmas this year, so maybe he'd be willing to give me his second set... I doubt it, but it's worth a shot.

You know, I doubt I'd buy from iTunes even if I could (they hate Canada, so we're screwed up here). I'd much rather have the DVDs, and it seems like a waste to buy both. Also, I totally end up downloading the eps from elsewhere so I don't have to worry about waiting. I kind of have to download the eps because it's too much of a pain trying to break the protection on iTunes downloads and I'm a vidder, so...

I hear you. The only way I can get a house is with the money my Mom left me, but it's wrapped up in her house which I have to sell (it's in a 55+ year old only complex and since I'm 34 and my brother is 36, it's gonna be a while until we are old enough to live there). I'm not even thinking about it on my single income. Bully to you for attempting!

I wasn't going to buy S5 since I only liked 1/4 of last season (Doppelganger, Tabula Rasa, Miller's Crossing, Harmony and Midway) but odd-numbered season have been teh awesome, so I went for it. Besides, there is nothing as wonderful as laying in bed with my ipod with the voice of one Rodney McKay in my ear. Hee
