Finally an update
So, I haven't disappeared. I've just been... meh. Busy, but also not really in the mood for LJ/IJ. I feel bad for ignoring you guys, especially since I just got a bunch of new friends over on IJ. Since it's been so long since I've checked my flist, I've decided there is no possible way for me to go back and read everything I missed, so I'm just starting new. If anything big happened that I should know about, especially in your life, please leave a comment and let me know.
As for what's going on for me, well I had a scare last week. I noticed that there was a large lump on the underside of my cat, Tigger's, chin and we had an emergency trip to the animal hospital. At the beginning the Dr. said there was a chance it was a tumour, but luckily it was just a bad tooth. Still, she had to have surgery to get rid of some of her teeth. She's doing much better now though.
Last night I went to First Time Home Buyer's seminar. It was really interesting. A lot I didn't know. Like my city has a program that will lend you up to $9000, or 5% toward the down payment on your first house, interest free to be paid back over the next 20 years, if you make less than $75,000. There are a couple of catches, but I'm going to email the person in charge to see if I'm eligible. That would be amazing if I could get something like that. After the seminar, it really got me excited about owning a home soon, I've been looking at MLS listings all day :D. I think I'm going to call a mortgage broker next week to see what I can get pre-approved for since I've gotten a wide range trying the calculators available online (everything from $50,000 to $1.4 million although I don't know what kind of crack the programmers for the latter quote were on, because the insurance alone I'd have to pay on that is almost two years salary for me). Still it's all very exciting. :D
Fandom-wise, well, all I can say is, the news of SGA being cancelled really depressed me. When I first heard the news I was all fired up and ready to fight to save our show. Now though, I just don't think I can. That's been part of the reason why I haven't been around much lately. The news just made me really lose interest in the fandom. I haven't even seen last weeks episode. It also doesn't help that while I was on vacation,
raxhel and I talked about SPN a bit, which made me want to get caught up on the episodes I'd missed. I may... have possibly jumped fandoms. The week when I got back was spent watching two seasons worth of SPN, and I've sort of been reading SPN fic ever since. I'M SORRY! I DIDN'T MEAN TO!
I'm not about to leave the SGA fandom entirely, I just think my love for it has really died down. Also, there may be some SPN talk starting on my journal.

We really need to set up a new schedule for our SG-1 watchings. I still want to do it, but we just fell out of it in July. Also, I might possibly have some new friends that might join us if we go back to it.
People keep telling me that I need to watch Supernatural. If you start talking it up, I may just be convinced to watch it.
:D I can definitely talk it up. Actually, I can go one farther, if you go to the MU account and check out the most recent uploads, I've been uploading some "ghost stories" :)
I'm glad to know you're ok. I was thinking about you a lot whenever I'd see stuff on the news about the hurricane. *hugs* I was just about to head over to your LJ to make sure you were ok when I got this comment.
Crazy weather. I'm so glad I live in a spot where the most extreme weather we get is 10 ft of snow or ice storms.

We have hurricanes, tornadoes, the occasional flood. Oh, and droughts. *nods* Yep, just call us "Extreme Weather Central."

That or else you're the better worker. I know that always bit me in the ass when I worked at the movie theater. If they were sending people home early, it was never me. Even if I had booked the day off because I had plans that I could still make if they let me go home, since you know, I wasn't supposed to be working in the first place. :(
And yeah, Ottawa has extreme temperatures, but thank god we don't have the rest of those. I don't know if I could live like that. I suppose you get used to it, but still....
