My Box

So, I have this box. It's my special box. It's red with green Christmas trees all over it. I got it once with a Christmas present in it, and since it's a nice sturdy box, I kept it. At one point in it's life, it held candle (I used to have quite the collection going) I can tell because it still smells like them, but at this point in time, it holds mostly things I don't want to lose and my mail.

Every piece of mail anyone, past or present, on my flist has sent me is in that box. There's quite a lot by this time :). Anyways, I also keep some of my mail supplies, like extra post cards and envelopes there as well. While searching through that box, I found the following:

-48 letters or cards from fandom people.
-27 letters or cards from family.
-1 letter from the former Guelph MP (in response to my letter to her saying I support gay marriages from back in 2004 or 2005 when they were talking of getting rid of them)
-1 condolence card from my vet on the death of Tigger (it was quite sweet of them, even if it made me cry).
-1 post card *I* sent to my parents (why it ended up back in my room I don't know...).
-1 returned to sender card I sent to anoel
-1 returned to sender card I sent to mercury973 (these two came back to me one after another, which caused me to throw up my hands in despair and give up on the US postal service. I kind of stopped sending mail after that :S)
-380 Yuan. You know, in case I ever go back to China and need some money....
-1 post card written and stamped but never sent for my sister.
-1 post card written and stamped but never sent for the_muppet (umm, I'm just going to mail this off now, please ignore the fact that it is a few months old :S)
-1 half written card to sunshineandrage (do you still want this? I don't even think I have your current address...).
-1 half written card to somedayvet (I know the address I have for you has changed, do you still want this?).
-A lot of turtle stickers from when I was sending letters for the SBC campaign.

So yes, apparently my mail has issues getting to people, and not all of it can be blamed on the USPS.

OK, so I went looking through all this stuff because I'm about to send off my Christmas cards.

People who've asked for mail from me so far:

It was very weird that two letters in a row were sent back and very frustrating. I know that when that letter was sent back to my, I emailed you to ask again for your address and it was exactly what I had written down, so I don't know what was wrong :(

I'm pretty sure you sent me your home address since there's an apartment number. All the return to sender note said was "no such number unable to forward". *shrugs*

We'll see if a Christmas card can make it to you.

You got my last Christmas card and last international stamp. It'll be in the mail tomorrow.
... Sorry if you don't get it in time for Christmas, I'm kind of late this year :S

Yay! I get without asking! Mail is so awesome!

How long does international mail take? Cause I have a whole bunch of cards and was planning on sending one to you, but, since I've never mailed stuff outside the US, I must admit to being stumped.

Heh, well I asked my mom if she thought my mail would get to people in time for Christmas and she laughed at me, so we might be too late. But I think mail between Canada and the US is pretty quick actually.

And if you have the mail... I don't really care if it's late :P

always :) Things have just been busy with finals and all so I have kinda avoided anything christmasy at the moment.

btw, the address you have for me, is it Cedar City, or Salt Lake City? cuz I won't be in Cedar after friday, and I'll have to give you the SLC address if I'm to get your card.
