So, unlike a lot of people in fandom, I always thought I'd give SGU a try when it comes out, but this? Just totally confirmed it. Ian Edgerton in space FTW! *needs Ian, or at least LDP icon*
Lou Diamond Phillips and Robert Carlyle in the same SF show? I'll certainly be giving it a go, even if it sounds like 90210 meets Voyager, in space. *serious nod*
Especially if Carlyle is allowed to keep his scottish accent...
You know, when they first mentioned SGU they said it was for a younger crowd and the casting calls were asking for younger people but when I actually looked up the actors listed in that article, not all of them seemed that young. I mean yeas, there were some in their 20s, but a bunch that weren't too.
Yeah, I must admit, the passing glance I was going to give SGU is now more a real look with LDP on it. I just hope they don't kill him off, then I'll be seriously pissed.
Well, ok, with SGA, you could watch it 3 days after it aired in the US, but it was only on The Movie Network, which you need super-duper-kitchen-sing-included cable to get, or else satellite, so I always just downloaded.
And I just watched one of the N3 eps with Ian, so I'm super excited. If they're getting decent actors, maybe it's not as bad as we originally thought. We can hope, anyway.
I've become very multi fandom lately, which means it's doubtful that I'll put my heart and soul into any one fandom from now on. So between LDP and the safety net, I think I'm going to give SGU a real shot.

Still, this news has me actually looking forward to the new show now.
