Also, mobile phone numbers over here are always that long. I never knew that was unusual in other parts of the world!
Cell phone numbers in N. America are only 10 digits (3 digit area code with a 7 digit number). In China the numbers were only 8 digites (although there may have been an area code in there that I just never used).
