So, I have a huge list of houses I'm looking at. But there was this one that was just listed Friday that I thought might be perfect for me. Except when I tried to get a showing of the place I found out it's already sold. :( I was so excited it had seemed perfect for me. Next time I'm really going to have to move in faster.

When I was looking at houses, I saw so many that seemed perfect online, and then when I went to look at them, they were so, so, SO wrong. I ended up buying a house that I first totally discounted from the online listing - it turned out to be almost perfect!

So, don't worry about it too much! There will be more houses. Also, if you are a single woman buying a house, I would highly recommend you go and get this book: http://www.fedpubs.com/subject/personal/home_girl.htm

It is an excellent, Canada-specific book for women who are buying houses (I'm assuming this is your first time). So, so useful.

Yeah, I know. I'm trying not to let the pictures on MLS sell me, but rather the descriptions of room sizes, heating types and location (I'm going to be bussing and Ottawa transpo isn't always that great). This place was perfect because it was in a neighbourhood that I really liked was across the street from a transit way and well, was in my price range when everything else in that neighbourhood is at least $10K more, some as many as $40K more. This one was obviously priced to sell fast and I wasn't fast enough :(

The good thing is, I'm not in too much of a hurry to move so I can wait until a similar deal comes along again. I have a couple viewings set up for Wednesday, so we'll see what we see.

Also, thanks for the book rec, I've requested a copy from the library. :)
