So, I'll admit it, I still use Yahoo Groups. This is mostly because I'm an email junkie and like having things appear in my inbox that I don't have to respond to. I really don't know why I use the groups though, because often they annoy me.
Take a message sent to one of my SCC groups last night, saying that one of the reasons SCC was canceled was because there was no audience it really appealed to. There weren't enough hot women for guys to be interested, and of course *girls* would *never* be interested in this kind of show.
So I finally jumped posted to the group saying, "Hi, I'm a girl, and I enjoyed the show, same with the other female friends that I know watch the show." To which the guy replied saying "How could it!?" Although, to be fair, he went on to describe why it doesn't appeal to men (or, you know him, more than all men, although he was trying to make it about everyone) either.
So here's a question to the SCC and Terminator fans on my flist, what is it you liked about the show/movie.

I'm not a big fan of the movies, but Sarah Connor Chronicles was very special and I love it a lot.

That was definitely going to be on my rebuttal email. This guy was complaining that Sarah just wasn't sexy because she was too rough around the edges (and I'm assuming he also meant because she didn't show enough cleavage or whatever), but that's actually a plus for a lot of women. She's this awesome strong woman, who gets things done without relying on a man. And she's *sexy* because she's so competent, she doesn't need to show off her boobs or cleavage for us to notice just how sexy she is.
This guy was also saying that even though they were trying to make Cameron the sexy one, no one could really get behind that because she was such a machine with no humanity. Which is the total opposite for me. I think Cameron is super sexy, and it's the little glimpses of emotion from her that hooked me to the show.

Honestly, though, I watched largely in spite of the women (save for Shirley Manson). You know my issues with Summer Glau and Lena Headey is no Linda Hamilton. However, I loved the guys' performances by and large and really enjoyed seeing some quality acting on a sci-fi show, which (hello, SGA!) isn't always that common.
