Recs

So every once in a while I go through bouts of vid recs but I very rarely rec anything else on my flist. I don't think I mentioned this on my journal before but back in August kronos999 and I decided to do an, I don't know, experiment maybe? Where we basically are bookmarking on delicious every fic we read (the good and the bad, although we both decided that we don't have to bookmark it if we don't actually finish reading it, so the truly bad isn't making it).

Anyways that, combined with my reading accioslash's meta on recs had me thinking about maybe making more of an effort to rec things on my journal. Would anyone be interested in that should I make the effort?

I always enjoy checking out recs from people on my flist.

Cool, I think I'll give it a try. And I'm thinking of adding a "rec" tag to my delicious that way if people actually want the good fic and not just whatever I read it'll be useful to them.

We'll see how I do staying at it, but it'll definitely be interesting to try because at the moment I pretty much only rec fics that everyone one and their dog has already rec'ed and that's really too bad because I do read a lot of good fic.

When I rec something I usually try to make it something not everyone and their sister has already recc'd. I'm always on the lookout for the same from others. :)

Heh, you know it's funny, because I tend to think of myself as someone who reads more off recs than anything else, but there's a good proportion of fics on my account at the moment where I'm the only one to have bookmarked them. Even more where the number is less than 10.

I'm always up for reading recs. Like everyone else [it seems], I end up searching for fic at delicious anymore. Though I prefer things on my flist.

Cool, well, I think I'll give it a try, for a while at least. I'm hoping that my recs will at least be useful to some since as I look through my delicious account I can't help but notice that while there are a few fics that like 100 other people have rec'ed there are far more where less than 10 people have rec'ed them and a good number where I'm the only one to book mark that link. Of course that's partly because I have a lot of podfic on there but still.

And you know, I only very, very recently started using delicious as a way to find fics. I had actually been unintentionally avoiding it for years.
