This may not be a long term solution, and I have no idea how strict things are over on Yahoo, but I've moved

qafdownloads to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/qafdl, now I've never made a yahoo group before so bear with me if things don't move all that smoothly at first (does anyone know how to make that rules thing you get when you join a new community on yahoo?). I've also heavily moderated the group.

Also if anyone has any links left over from this past week send them my way, unfortunatly they deleted the second community

master_listers that those who did the list had been using to keep track of the code.

Also spread the word to those who were in the community and would like to stay involved. If anyone would like to be involved with this group but doesn't have or want a yahoo identity, please leave a comment with your e-mailo address and I'll keep you in touch.

wow those links are great. I'll make a post in the community about them. Are they all yours? And do you want credit for them? And if you do Should I credit your LJ name or you Yahoo name (which I saw in the group but there were so many, I might not know what your yahoo name is....)

Yeah, the links are all mine. I tend to hold on to them until they're posted, or if a link can be killed (like on Rapidshare). Credit is fine; you can use my LJ name. I think it'll be easier to find each other that way.

Also, you've probably thought of this, but would it be easier to break things into separate lists? For instance, each season into 4, the extras in 1, and the music in another? And is it possible to make a master list for requests, to hopefully avoid multiple requests?

I still have more song links. I'll post them in groups of 10. In the meantime, let me know if any episodes need to be u/l, and if you need any help setting things up or spreading the word.

yeah sure, spam away on any and all communities. I'm also going to make up some things to prevent huge amounts of messages a day. I'm the BJFic yahoo group and they have about 40 messages a day and it can really take over your inbox.

It'd be a bit annoying to establish (having to post them one by blessed one), but we could post the links in the LINK section of the group instead of posting them as messages. Mods can delete them as well as whoever originally posted them, and (assuming it's set up for everyone to have posting access) any member can add a new link. They could be organized into folders by season, content, etc. as well, and there's room to give them more of a description, including ul date or expiry date which would make it easier to delete expired files, I think.

Other than the annoyance of having to enter in all the links individually, this has the benefit of being something everyone can participate in keeping updated and clear of dead, it can be organized, and the info is available to everyone in the group in one place rather than requiring a periodic bulletin.

Myself, I'd be willing to enter what I have in order to spread out the work load.

You do know that you can set communities like this to deliver a daily digest, right? Just go to the 'edit my membership' section and there's a drop down menu. Yahoo groups all the messages from within a 12 hour period and sends it in one big email to your inbox. (And then you can do what I do--skim heavily. Because, for some odd reason, people reply to really long messages with their one-liner w/o deleting the really long message. Pet peeve. LOL!)

yeah, well as annoying as getting a zillion e-mails is, I find those sum up e-mails worse....

:P I kind of hate it when people reply and do delete everything, since half the time I can't remember what it is they're replying to.

I just sent in my yahoo groups join request. I've a load of links left over from checking the lists over and digging through my browser history and I'll email them to you. Some of them are labeled with date of creation as well. I'm sure there's a lot of overlap with

baby_sis's list, especially in the music, but I've got a nearly complete set of seasons 1-4. Unfortunately, what's missing are the ones loaded in the last few days by folks other than me, as I'd deleted those emails.

All the links in my email are live as of a few hours ago.

I was thinking of making one whose sole purpose would be to direct new people to the fandom, who may only know LJ, to the yahoo group that way it's less likely to be shut down. But I would wait a little while at first, because they really seem to be cracking down on anything.

I just don't want to make it myself in case they're watching my activity, but if they're doing that it might not make much sense for you to do it either, depending on how much they're watching me. I just have a feeling that if I were to make a community right now they'd watch it like a hawk and make sure that there's nothing illegal in it.

I think you should seriously look into this. Looks *very* promising. No updating links or anything - people just share with each other. Like Kazaa or Limewire, only private.
