It's not that I dislike John, I just don't like him as much as everyone else seems to. Also, he sounds a lot like Adam Sandler, and I can't seem to get past that when he's talking.... *shrugs*

I don't know, I like the shows, but I don't know if I'll ever be in the fandom since there aren't really any pairings that have grabbed me, the only character that I completely fangirl over is Carson, *sigh* I love that man so much <3 :P

He's hot, though. :D And I think his interaction with Rodney is a huge help for liking him. Haha, Adam Sandler. They do have that drawl...

I've never been in the SG1 fandom (I'm afraid I'm way too late now anyway - 9 seasons, omg), but the SGA fandom hit me hard. But then again, I'm Rodney/John all the way. Carson is very likeable, but I can never see him in a sexual context. I'm weird that way. :">

Yes, he's hot, and man do I have a thing for Scottish accents, although why I'm not sure since I mostly hear them coming from very very drunk guys who like to pretend they're Scottish.... Really most of his appeal to me is that he's a huge sweat heart. That and he seems *real* to me. People like McKay and Sheppard are fun, but you can't really imagine meeting them in RL, but I so think that Carson could be real.

As for SG-1, well, I had never watched Stargate at all until September. DVDs are super cheap here (like $1 each) so I can get a whole season's box set for less then $10. So when we first got to China we started buying a ton of TV shows, mostly shows that we loved in Canada (Buffy, QaF) or else new ones with only one season (Numb3rs, Medium), but they didn't take long to watch. So one day we were looking, and Sara's into sci-fi, and I remembered that I have a cousin who is so totally in love with Stargate so we decided to buy it. It's taken us 3 months but we've made it through 9 full seasons (8 of SG-1 and 1 of Atlantis), and we're now downloading the new seasons. It's a bit crazy, but now that we're nearing the end, we don't know what we're going to do. After spending the afternoon watching cable, I've come to the realization that it's just not an option (1 English chanel, and a lot of crap).

Wow, talk about cheap! SG1 is really addictive, and it's probably one of my favourite shows ever. I still admire the writers for being able to make 9 seasons. They really build their own mythology. Do you have a favourite SG1 ep? (Mine are probably 'Window Of Opportunity', '2010', 'Meridian', 'Abyss', 'Full Circle', 'Lost City' and 'Moebius' (omg, I died!))
