(no subject)

So I don't actually watch all that many shows, mostly during the year there will be one show (this year 2, SGA and N3) that I watch regularly, and a bunch of others I like, but can't be bothered to watch week by week. Then during the hiatus I download all the shows I like, but don't *love* and have marathons, this list is mostly for me, but thought I'd share. The Catch ups, are, obviously, shows I already like, but have just fallen behind on, the other list are shows I've heard good things about, and might start watching, if anyone has comments on that list, or thinks I should add to it, let me know.

Shows I'd like to watch this summer:

Catch up
-House
-Medium
-The 4400
-Life on Mars
-SG-1
Question: Are there any Farscape fans here? I started watching the show, but it didn't really grip me, but I'm wondering if I should give it another try.

Shows to start watching
-Traders (does anyone have this? It's impossible to find torrents of it :( )
-Heros
-Dr. Who
-Torchwood
-Eurika
-Painkiller Jane
-Dexter
-Dresden Files
-Dead Zone (ok, I started this, and found John to be a bit of a dork, but found season 2 on sale, and bough it, because *sale.* Now I feel obliged to actually watch it)
-Gah, I know there were more!

Yay for House, Heroes, Torchwood and Dexter! \o/

Dexter is so awesome. I started watching it because suddenly my whole flist was gushing over that show. (It's usually what sucks me into watching these.) With Torchwood, someone gave me something shiny and I fell for it. ;) I really enjoyed this season of Dexter, it's for once a thought-through season. I'm really curious about the next one! And Torchwood. Don't give up early. The later episodes are the best, especially the two or three before the finale. It's a short season anyways. :)

Yay for House and 4400! Yay for being behind on both! I used to watch Farscape when I was younger (it came on before SG-1, I think). It was a funny show that allowed for a new curse word without teachers understanding. And if they did, they were the cool kind who just snickered. I've heard that it got weak in later seasons and I remember seeing the series finale and getting really confused. But that's what PK Wars was for.

Doctor Who and Torchwood are magical. Series 3 of Doctor Who has been a little weird to get in just because there's a new character but the preview for the last half of the series...OMFG, I wants! Heroes I have but haven't watched...Painkiller Jane I saw the pilot for and it looks decent (with a *lot* of lesbian subtext). Dresden Files was gorgeous. I actually like Dead Zone. Both DF and DZ are easily slashed. Dexter I just finished getting and need to watch.

I can't think of any others off the top of my head. Although Dead Like Me is funny (just started marathoning that one) and worth the time, imo.

But you should definitely watch Torchwood. Canon gays. *stares at icon*

I'm catching up on a lot of shows too this summer. Lots of good ones on your list. I'm going to be watching Farscape and I've heard it takes awhile to get really good but that S2/3 get amazing so I'd recommend sticking with it. I'd also add The Office to your shows to start watching list ;)

You don't want to start off with Women's Appreciation as a first time Office episode. It was a little over the top and bit weird in terms of characterizations. Start from the beginning or at least S2 here: http://anoel.livejournal.com/33928.html#cutid1 It helps when you get the characters and where they're coming from.

I recommend Jericho. It's my favourite new show of the season. It can be a little hokey, but it's gripping and fun to watch. The season finale just aired this week and it was ..... OMG. :|

We don't even know if it's renewed yet but I sure hope so!

Plus Skeet Ulrich = uber cuteness!

I was about to say Heroes but I see you have it :)

Oh, and Life On Mars... I'm glad you have that listed.

Enjoy :)

You've watched the first series of LOM already? Let me know what you think of the final episode, I'm still not sure. But overall, I absolutely love this show, so original, and I'm so glad they ended it when they did and didn't drag it out.

It's from Series Two of LOM, Episode 5 :)

I found Painkiller Jane to be incredibly derivative and totally lacking in originality. Then again, I only made it through the pilot and the first third of the second episode before I gave up.

I am generally good about giving shows a chance to find their "legs," but I just didn't see any potential at all in that series. Totally unoriginal premise, scenery-chewing acting, overly long sections of close-up violence...

Your mileage may vary, however.
