So, I just got back from te dentists, and am talking with the biggest lisp imaginable. It's really weird when you can lick your lips and not feel it.

Anyways, on my way over to the dentists, I was thinking about some things, and thought I'd ask my flist, so, poll!

[Poll #984619]

It would depend on how they had offended me. I've never actually been offended by a fic except poor grammar usage. And that I will usually ignore and click the back button.

If someone were to...I don't know. Say that Sam came out of the closet in canon (I can pray...) and someone wrote a fic just bashing the character and meant every word (included a note in the header about how gays were so horrible and such)...yeah. That would get a note. A scathing note.

As for the accidental flaming...that was one where someone posted a story on a CSI Femslash comm with a Jim/Gil (male slash, if you can't tell) fic that was just *horrible*. Written in script format (I despise script format) with the characters acting like spoiled toddlers. I was not kind. But neither were a lot of other people on that comm.

Does it make it ok if you're not the only one?
No, it doesn't make it right. But I was closer to being civil then some people. I forget exactly what I said, but I basically suggested that his person learn grammar basics. Others told her (I think it was a her) that she needed to give up and never show her face in fandom ever again. Had it just been my commentary, I would have felt bad for flaming but consoled myself by hoping she would wait to post further until she had completed junior high English. Seeing some of the others...I feel terrible because I just added insult to injury.
