Numb3rs
So, in preparation of the new season starting on Friday, I started re-watching Numb3rs. I've gotten through most of season 1, and can I just say? How slashy were Don and Charlie in season 1? I kind of moved away from the fandom, and part of that was because I didn't like the guys with girls, but watching season 1? OMG, I'm suddenly wanting to go search out Don/Charlie fic. Although, I have a feeling, once I get to season 3 I'll totally be wanting to check out the David/Colby fics and the Colby/Charlie fics. So really, if anyone wants to rec Numb3rs fic, especially slash fic, please feel free.

Re: Numbers
Charlie and Colby were so cute, Colby would be all "Whoa, Charlie" and would listen to him, even though he would act like he couldn't understand. They're so cute. If I run across any good Colby/Charlie fics, I'll make sure to let you know :)
Re: Numbers
Charlie and Colby are awesome. I was afraid that Colby was really going to behave like the dumb jock he pretends to be when he first showed up, so I was quite pleasantly surprised when he and Charlie actually turned out to be friends. If you find fic definitely pass it along. It's so rare. The fandom needs more Charlie/Colby love.
Re: Numbers
you're way ahead of me on that front. :)
All it took was that one person going "Gah, who could like that stuff, it's horrible, and wrong, and gross!" And the contrary side of me kicked up a fuss and made me as *why*. I mean, most people associate incest with parents/aunts/uncles/grandparents and children (and to tell you the truth, those do still squick me), or siblings and *children*. But all the incest fics I read are between consenting adults. Then the only objection you can really have are mutant babies, but since it's slash, that's not really a problem. Ok, there are still people personal gut reactions because they can't imagine doing anything with their siblings, but whatever. I have a grand justification (read as: long winded), but I'm not going to get into it now. :P
It's just one of those things that once I really thought about it, I was able to justify to myself why it's ok.
Charlie and Colby are awesome.
It's sooo true. I always find it weird that I don't come across more fic for them, since they have a lot of chemistry. Instead I've been seeing all this Don/Colby fic turning up and all I can think is o_O Wha? Don was jut being pissy to him in the Janus List, and hardly seemed to care afterwords...
I was afraid that Colby was really going to behave like the dumb jock he pretends to be when he first showed up
I don't think that was a real worry for me, but when you say that, all I can think of is Ford from SGA, how he was always so mean to the Dr.s on the show.
Re: Numbers

And wow, I was going through a list, and almost rec'ed one by you :P
OK, I really have to stop the list there, because my lunch is over, but the fics are there if you look for them. Of course, since I haven't read them, I can't promise they're *good* fics, but they're there. :p
Re: Numbers
Oddly enough, I think RPS usually requires less research. There's far more leeway given that there are fewer details out there for celebrities than for their counterparts.
That really only works with actors, though. Band slash is a whole other ballgame, apparently, but actor RPS has been pretty loose about it, in my experience. (Hewlett and Flanigan especially, which is the only RPS fandom I sort of read and write anymore, though I am absolutely loathe to admit it.)
Thanks a ton for the Charlie/Colby recs. I'll be sure to give them a read. :) You're so awesome when it comes to research.
Re: Numbers
Ahh, see, I've mostly just been exposed to Bandslash, and I think the first time I heard about RPS was way back when it was called Popslash, and was about the Backstreet Boys and N*Sync, and it was a piece of wank about how to interpret the fact that someone was somewhere at sometime (I don't really remember the details just someone saying "And *this* is cannon in my fandom *head desk*).
Thanks a ton for the Charlie/Colby recs. I'll be sure to give them a read. :)
Know what this fandom needs? An archive. Last time I looked, there was only the CalSci Library, and it wasn't automated, and didn't allow slash. I would *love* to just be able to go to an archive and look at the fics for my pairings. The fandom is so small, that we can't just rely on a ton of rec lists, lke I do for SGA, and the comms have so much cross posting and are for so many different pairings....

You know it's weird. I have so many vid bunnies, for so many shows, but not a single one for Numb3rs, and I'm going on like my 5th viewing for the first season. You'd think I'd know the footage well enough to vid for it....

Yeah, I haven't really re-watched the later season, but I was kind of surprised when I went back and watched season 1.
It's, I don't know, a lot more affectionate. I think in the later seasons Don starts taking Charlie for granted a bit more. Also, he'll send Colby or one of the others to get Charlie, or to give Charlie extra information on a case, when in season 1 it was always Don interacting with Charlie.
But I miss Colby...
I more miss Megan. I don't like Terry. I didn't really like Megan all that much to begin with, but she's totally grown on my, and I'm in love with her like whoa.
The bad thing is, I can't remember if they ever said why Terry left, or why Megan and Colby joined. I'm going to start watching season 2 tonight, maybe they'll say then.
Also, as I watched the eps, I rememebered that thing we were talking about earlier this summer, about writing down funny quotes. I was watching the eps with my family so couldn't pause to write things down, but I made little notes on places to go back to. Maybe one day I'll actually follow through :P

That is so true. But it's probably because everything is new for both of them. Now Charlie walks into his office with all his confidence why in the first season he was still a bit shy. One of my favourite scenes in the first season is when Don find's out that Charlie has the highest security clearance. :D
I miss Megan in the first season too. I never liked Terry either, but Megan from the very first moment. I think they mentioned something why Terry went away.
I never got far with the quotes, it's really difficult for me to get every word.

I do miss some of the Don/Charlie interactions sometimes in the later seasons. But I feel that the show has developed a lot more with the whole cast too, so often I'm too distracted by the rest of the awesome to notice :P
I never liked Terry either, but Megan from the very first moment.
See I watched season 1 as it was originally airing when my mom and sister managed to get me to sit down, and I wasn't really wowed by it, but I totally fell in love with the second season. I was always just meh to Terry. She was too business like, and just *there*. Even David was kind of like that in the first season.
Megan, I actually had a bit of trouble getting used to her voice (it's kind of whiney), but as soon as she started really flirting with Larry, that was it for me. They're so cute! <3
I think they mentioned something why Terry went away.
They just said that she transferred to Washington. Really casually, so it was easy to miss.

I have no idea why I liked Megan from the very first moment. I just did. I always liked that she seems to understand most of the stuff Charlie says and I so adore her interactions with the rest of the team, espcially with Colby. They are fun to watch.

I'm re-watching season 2 right now, and honestly? They seem to have something from the very beginning. The first time she comes over and Larry's in the room, she just kind of brightens up, way more than she does with others. And asking if he'll give her a drive in his car (around the parking lot :P).
One of the things I like a lot about Megan, especially when compaired to Terry, is that she's pretty into her subject. She really gets into the profiling, but will also make jokes with the others about it, and you get that she's really good at her job. Terry, it would just come up once in a while, and she was always so factish that it was like she was reading from a textbook. Megan quotes things like they're from a textbook, but she emphasizes things, and makes it sound *important*.
*loves my Megan!*

She totally does. I saw that epi yesterday.

Yes, she makes it sound important and useful for the case. I just saw 2x02 this morning and there happened exactly what you just described. And I loved it.
*loves my Megan!*
Ditto.
