You know, this meme makes me want to have a giant party with my flist. Just invite everyone over for pizza or something. In a lot of ways it's *totally awesome* that fandom is filled with people from all over the world but sometimes you just wish that we were all closer.

I'm totally going to keep an eye out for those US cons close by to you. Not that I'm going to have any vacation time after the week off in August, but there's always next year!

Let me know if you see any interesting ones. Assuming I can take time off work (which, considering the fact that I'm about to have seniority, shouldn't be too hard) we could do another weekend thing. I can go pretty much anywhere in Texas, maybe Oklahoma or Louisiana.

Ha, I could totally see myself moving to a fandom commune somewhere in the remote mountains with really good internet access. People keep bitching and moaning about making one. I'd totally be there if someone did :P
I'll keep my eyes out for the cons but you might hear about them first since you're closer. It's weird but people don't really talk about cons as much on LJ, or at least not on my flist but there's a lot of talk on mailing lists about them. That's how I always find out about them.
