Tech Question

Ok, I haven't even tried Googling this yet, I'll probably try that tonight, but I thought I'd ask here first.

Does anyone know how to get things from your TV onto your computer? I'm doing this special project at work, where we're doing a video. I offered to edit it, but the camera we got only lets you transfer *pictures* to your computer, not video. And now I have all this footage saved on a Mini DV, that I need to get on my computer.

Please say someone knows how to help me!

I actually was able to get the footage off the camera, I just needed a firewire.

I still want to try and get things off my tv though. I got an S-Video cable, but I only have input slots on my TV. I'm looking into getting one of these. Have you ever tried one of them? I'm not exactly sure what is considered good or a good deal.

I had a similar one many moons ago. It's basically doing the same thing as a capture card, but it's external.
