Wahoo!

20/20 vision!
I had the follow up appointment this morning. I think they were pushing it a bit with my right eye, since I had to squint a bit, but I could see fine out of my left, and they said that my vision will continue to improve over the next few days.

They also said that my eyes were healing super fast, and I should use some drops to slow it down. I'm not sure why it's a bad thing for the eyes to heal quickly, but whatever. I'm feeling a lot better now than I expected, so I'm going to be leaving in a few minutes to go to a family get together for my cousin's birthday. Maybe by tomorrow I'll be able to risk watching the new SGA ep. And read through my hundred or so emails.... :D

That's wonderful news! I'm so glad to hear that it went so well! :)

I'm so happy for you :D I can't imagine what it would be like to wake up and be able to see with no assistance...the thought just boggles the mind. lol So, did your insurance cover any of the cost for you? I've considered having it done, but I know it's gotta be expensive and (the bigger reason) I'm a huge chicken.

Yeah, my eye sight has been horrible since I was like 9. I've had to wear glasses all the time since I was 10, I can't do anything without them. I think my vision like 400/20 in one eye and 350/20 in the other. Which I'm afraid might be too bad to be corrected to 20/20 with lasik...but I'm sure someday I'll be doing it. Like I said, it would be amazing to be able to not wear glasses. $3500 is a 'small' price to pay for perfect vision.

Glad you're doing so well :)

Congratulations! That's odd that they don't want your eyes to heal too fast. Maybe they're afraid that they'll over-heal, and you'll get x-ray vision or something. That would be cool!

Don't they tell you not to watch tv or read anything? That would drive me insane! What else are you supposed to do? Well, I guess you could "watch" tv with your eyes closed.

I had that surgery in 1999 and it's the best $$ I ever spent. Just had my annual exam and I'm still 20/20.
