So, today can alternately be titled "Snow Day!" We Got a lot of snow today, like, more than a foot, and we're still getting more tonight. Luckily we just had a bit of a thaw and some of the previous snow had melted away, otherwise I'm sure this year would be looking a lot like the Winter of '08.

OMG guys, new music from Kris leaked! It was a beautiful thing to wake up to this morning :D I've been listening to it on repeat whenever I have a chance. If you want to listen it's here (download in the comments). SO GOOD!

True story, I was in the public computer/study area between classes today writing an email to about a job (!! OMG good new there too!) when someone's computer started playing really loud music. I sat there glaring at the guy across from me because he wasn't doing anything to turn in off or turn it down when suddenly Kris' voice came on and I realized it was me. OMG, so embarrassing (stupid Windows had restarted and when I opened my browser all my tabs reloaded and the new song was up).

On the good job news front, I got the job offer today where they didn't say my hours, but they did say how much I'd get paid an hour, which I was shocked to find out would be the same hourly rate as when I was working full time! A good $8/hr more than I was expecting! :O I had been kind of worried that I wouldn't get enough hours going back to my old job part-time but at more than double what I'd get working elsewhere I really can't say no. I'm going in tomorrow to sign the paperwork.

I actually started writing this email while in the airport on my way to Vividcon and even then it was super late! I think it's time I finally post it :P

So back in June cantarina emailed me that a couple podfic fangirls were having a get together, and would I be interested in joining them. That was kind of in the middle of my work stress so I welcomed the excuse to get away and said "hell yes!"

The only problem was that the get together was being held on a Wednesday 5 hours from where I live.

So, at my work, they take Halloween pretty seriously. ( Want to see pics? )

One of the girls in my department has chicken pox. So far we've spent most of the morning going "OMG, did she have it as a child? She did!? I didn't know you could get it twice!" *scratch scratch*

Because that's just what we need, for everyone to get the chicken pox. :S

I'm not actually that worried, but you can't help but feel itchy, just at the idea.

In other news, I completely jinxed myself yesterday while talking to a coworker. I mentioned that I haven't really been sick this year but last year around this time, I got sick and my asthma acted up. Which I soooo don't have time for this year with all the podficing I need to do.

So, last night while podficing? I started coughing. Asthma coughs. I can still feel it in my lungs :S Not impressed.

*sigh* I'm soo not ready for this weekend to be over. It's been a nice weekend where I mostly relaxed but also got things done, like vacuuming and buying bedside tables.

I also finished a podfic today that I'll hopefully be able to post soon. I found myself oddly nervous asking the author for permission. I guess this is the first podfic I've had to ask permission on since I had to take that Star Trek one down and now I'm worried the author will say no. I really hope not since I think the podfic turned out really well and I can't wait to share it. Yay! The author just got back to me and it was a yes. :D Fic will be posted as soon as I find out how to pronounce the author's name. :S

I also did some work on (this is) not a statement although I feel less accomplished about that one. In my head I was already finished chapter 3. Turns out I'm only finished the first page of chapter 3 :-/ I tried to do some recording after dinner but first I was really off and stumbling all over the place, then the neighbours started playing music really loudly and I'm afraid that it was being picked up on the recording. If so, I got nothing tonight :(

Speaking of (this is) not a statement, I've noticed that in the AI podficing fandom it's not uncommon for people to post podfics as WIPs. I'll be honest it never really occurred to me before to post a podfic before it was done however I wonder if people would be interested in my doing so for this fic. I know that, even though I wish the podfics were complete, I still listen to the AI WIPs simply because there isn't that much podfic in the fandom and I need me some podfic. :P Also, posting it as a WIP would definitely motivate me to work on it faster and would make sure that I finish it.

In other, non-podfic news, I soooo don't want to go back to work tomorrow. I have a big mess waiting for me, which actually kept me up at night this weekend. :-/

In good news though, I'm going back to New York City in September! Only for a weekend by still! Vacation!

Oh, and as of June 30th, I've owned my house for a full year! Weird to believe that I've only been living with kronos999 and diurnal_lee for about a year. It seems like forever. They're such awesome room mates ♥

I've been so restless at work lately, just not wanting to do anything :S

However I'm getting super excited about Halloween. The house is really beginning to look awesome and I'm sure come Saturday you're all going to be spammed with pictures and squee. :D It's been all I can do to not start posting pictures and plans already but most of the people coming to the party are already on my flist and I want it to be a surprise for them.

We're starting to decorate at work too. Where I work Halloween is rather intense. Since my department has more people than desks, I actually sit in another department. The other department said I could only sit at my desk on Halloween if I joined them in their department's theme. Which was fine with me, however when my own department was having a meeting, I had to leave while they discussed Halloween stuff because they felt I had abandoned them. It's all very competitive. Also, there are prizes for the best department theme as well as for individual costumes. I'm pretty sure my father is going to win for "I Can't Believe You Wore That" since he's going as "Lady Luck" and has this short little green skirt and tank top outfit with a wig that looks *horrible*.

At first I was searching online for a cheap wedding dress but couldn't find one in my size and price range that could get here on time, so instead I'm going as a rather lame card dealer at a casino (the department theme is Vegas casino). I do however have a poker table set up in my cubicle so I feel that will get me extra points.

Now, I just have to make a last minute stop to the party store, since my costume (for my party) requires me to dye my hair. I tried using real hair dye to do it but it seems that my hair is too dark and it came out as my normal hair colour, just a shade off in the direction I wanted it to be :( I'm just going to buy some of that really bright spray on stuff instead.
