So, last night paradise_city were talking about BNFs, and the new SGA, and then somehow the two merged.

So, since I was at the wedding this weekend, I only got around to watching Kindred this afternoon. I was disappointed by the fact that we didn't really have much Carson in it, but overall I was happy with it. Also, how awesome was Lorne this ep? Other than the Carson bit, and the fact that Michael was in it, I was mostly unspoiled for this episode, so I was surprised by the amount of build up that was in it. I'm really looking forward to next weeks ep.

So, I haven't been watching vids as much as I used to, but today I felt like changing that. So I put my vids on to play while I'm surfing around. All of a sudden a QaF vid starts to play, and I recognize it as my own, but for the life of my I couldn't remember which one it was. Isn't that sad? The part that'd even worse, is, as I sat there looking at it, I thought, "Hey, I don't hate this!" Because I have this thing, where often, once I'm finished the vid, I can't make myself watch it afterwords, because all I see is the mistakes. I was a good, oh, minute into it, before I realized that it was a copy of the QaF vid I *started* making last year, but never finished. *headdesk* That's why I couldn't remember which of my *published* vids it was.
That said, I should really go back and finish it sometime, what I have done so far isn't bad. But first, I have to finish the SGA vid I'm working on. I should really work on it now, but I'm feeling kind of meh today and want to do nothing. So instead I am doing some half assed research for the fic I'm totally not writing for paradise_city (oh god, why did a choose a porny idea to start on? I think I'll probably die of embarrassment the first time someone reads it...)
On that note, I'm thinking of adding a BDSM element to the fic, can anyone here rec some good books or websites to do research? I've dabbled in it myself, but since my sex life as a whole isn't really anything to brag about, I don't want to just base things on what I've experienced or looked for myself.

So, in the spirit of Valentines day, I just did a massive defriending. I feel really, really bad about this, but most of the people I defriended hadn't updated in months, if not years. Mostly it was people who have abandoned their LJs, or have moved on to different fandoms and we never talk. I hardly ever lock anything, but if you were one of the people I defriended and you still read my journal, let me know, and I'll refriend you.

But since we're on the subject of defriending, I thought I'd make one of those statements, so, if you currently have me friended, bu feel we don't have that much in common anymore, please take this post as an invitation to defriend me.

Completely unrelated, but I finally managed to get my hands on a copy of Midway, are people on my flist still missing it? It's hit the torrents and general eps comms, but if anyone is still missing it, I'd be happy to upload a copy of it.

I can't count how many times in the past week or so I've stated that I'm not a writer. That I'm horrible at writing, that no one would want to read what I have to write, etc. So I find it kind of amusing that I choose this week to actually try writing a fanfic.

I've been thinking lately about what, in fic, annoys me personally, and one of the answers was writers who get Canada really wrong. It really shouldn't bother me, since for the most part, author's do a great job of writing about Canada. What gets me more is when people think Canada is a lot more foreign (in respect to the US) than it really is. Like sometimes they'll have Rodney say things that I've *never* heard another Canadian say. It sounds more British, or Australian, or sometimes even make believe than like a Canadian accent. Or when people assume he speaks French. I recently went on a vacation to Florida, and when my sister told our tour guide that she was a French teacher, he said something like "Well isn't that your main language up there?" Unless you live in Quebec, New Brunswick, or just tried really hard in school, chances are you don't speak more than a little bit of French. I mean I grew up in *Ottawa* and I don't speak French passably.

Anyways these thoughts somehow turned into ( fic thoughts. )

I don't know if I'll ever finish writing this, or if I'll ever post it if I *do*, but I'm having far too much fun thinking about it. Can anyone else think of some stereotypes I'm missing that should be added? Or that will make me smile as I think about this :)
Oh, I think I might *have* to add something about Stephen Harper's hair, just for sunshineandrage even though she's not in the SGA fandom (although she totally *should* be, although I think everyone should be :P) Also, I need an "I love Canada" icon or something.

I should probably say something fandom-y while I'm here, but.... I got nothing.

I'm half way through a new QaF vid, but well, it's kind of been stalled, and it's now saved on a computer that isn't mine, so I wouldn't hold your breath for it.

I'm supposed to be starting a SGA vid today for the Save Carson Beckett Campaign but I'm trying to re-arrange space on my computer first, and I just realize I only have like 3 eps on my computer right now, so maybe not today if I have to re-download everything....
