Numb3rs
Ok, first off, I want to wish
geeklite a belated birthday. I so meant to make this post last night, but I fell asleep. :-/ I hope you had an amazing day!
Next, I know I'm totally late on this, but I want to talk about Colby and the Janus list.
Gah! This was such an amazing episode! When I finished watching that episode I realized that that was one of the most effective season finales I've ever seen. I can only think of one other season finale like it (The Buffy one where she killed Angel). It wasn't quite a cliffhanger, because the problem was resolved, but it just left everything so broken. I can't wait until the new season starts. *whines* I'm going to be spending waaayyyy too much time thinking about this ep. Also I was really impressed by this ender, because the finale for season 2 sucked so, so much. I'm glad they were able o make this one much more interesting.
The thing is, not for one minute did I actually believe Colby's been a spy for 2 years. I have a feeling he was probably pulled in by the Americans when they discovered Dwayne, because:
1) What are the chances they both happened to work for the Chinese. I mean of all the governments out there... It would be more likely if it were a Middle Eastern government, because at least they both fought over there, but the Chinese? I mean we know how Dwayne got involved, but Colby? His only connection is Dwayne.
2) If Colby was a spy on the same side as Dwayne they had some mighty weird private conversations. And Colby's must be a pretty good actor to look so surprised and hurt over Dwayne being a traitor. I mean honestly, if they both knew (and if it were true I can't believe they wouldn't at the very least have suspicions) they might not have come right out with their secret traitor hand shake, but I think they probably would have spoken in a few more double entendre's.
3) If Dwayne *knew* that Colby was a turn coat, I think he would have turned him in when Colby cornered him. He was so upset and angry when it happened I can't believe he wouldn't lash out. I mean, I know he knew by this episode, but I bet he probably learned while imprisoned and decided to sit on it, because he was calmer and already caught, he knew he'd have to use that info to his advantage, but I doubt he'd be thinking that clearly when he was first arrested.
Edit: Obviously there are spoilers in this post and the comments for Janus List. In the comments though we now have some vague cast spoilers for season 4 (of both Numb3rs and SGA). Please don't spoil me people. I can't handle it! (Ok, I *can* but it'll piss me off). If you *are* looking for spoilers for season 4 there's a link in the comments to somewhere where you can find more info.

Jewel Staite was in season 3 as well, she was playing that Dr that took over for Carson.

I kind of didn't liked Jewel Staite in the one SGA episode she was in so far, just because she is not Carson. And she looked weird with the blonde hair.
Great icon!

In some ways I wish I didn't know because I probably would have been more moved by that ep. I still cried when I watched it, but mostly I was really pissed off about it. Still I'm glad I knew in advance since I did end up joining the Save Carson Campaign and it's been going really well, I'm glad I could be apart of it.

I don't like her simply because she hasn't done anything, and they just put her there so that they could attract the Firefly fans and guys after a hot woman. I also hated that the only real conversation they had about Carson after his death was her whining about not wanting his position, and Elizabeth totally downplayed Carson's role on the show, Carson's importance to the mission.
God I get so angry when I think about how the writers handled the Carson storyline. *foams at mouth*

I hated when they do things like that. Isn't Teyla enough to attract men? And Jewel Staite just doesn't look good with blonde hair. The colour looks so artificial. But I'll give her a chance...

But I'll give her a chance...
Well you're better than me. They're going to have to do something pretty amazing with her character to make me like her.

In the beginning, I didn't like Carson much. But from the second season on, I started to love him. I never can decide which of the characters I like the most.
I've seen the first three seasons of SG-1 on German tv, but stopped then. When Atlantis started, my friend convinced me to watch it (because Enterprise was over anyway). I also started to watch SG-1 again, because I really like Ben Browder and Claudia Black. But I haven't finished watching the 10th season yet. Some shows are just more interesting for me right now. And since it is over anyway, I can wait...
I only give Jewel Staite a chance because I really liked her in Firefly.

See I never watched Firefly. I've seen a few eps and they did nothing for me. *shrugs*

I didn't like the Ori storyline much either.
My friend gave me the movie Serenity. She said I should watch it (David Krumholtz is in it too). And I kind of liked. And when I found accidentally links for the show, I decided to watch it.

Yeah, I haven't seen that much of Farscape but when I did watch it I did a bit of a double take because the characters she plays are so so different.
I didn't like the Ori storyline much either.
The thing is, they've already done the "False Gods" storyline. And to be honest, the Gou'ald were better because at least they were... I don't know, more human? I mean the preachyness of the Ori, and the scripture readings and the "deep thoughts" on religion involved just make it kind of eye rolly.
That was one of the nice things about coming over to SGA and having the Wraith. They were a very different bad guy. I kind of hate that they've since left them alone more and have moved onto less impressive bad guys. Like that Asurans? I don't get them. Their motivations are clear, or very consice and seem to change at the drop of a hat.
The Genii, from the very beginning kind of had me going "WTF? Who does that?" I mean they were just such bastards. Granted that's part of what makes them interesting, and I did like Kolya, and was totally disappointed with his death.

See I've heard people talk about how amazing the show is. Like people will really go on about how amazing it is, but the few episodes I watch didn't pull me in, and I didn't really understand the movie (I figured it was because I hand't really watched the show, but it could be because I wasn't really paying attention). I don't know, I just find that I go into watching a show with really high expectations, and when other people are like "You have to watch this!!!" I tend to be disappointed because my high expectations just got higher.

"False Gods" is always a popular storyline. But most of the times I didn't like it.
I liked The Wraith. The Genii annoyed me to death (even though I liked to see Colm Meaney again).
Understanding Serenity without having watched the show might be a bit difficult. But the show had only 13 episodes anyway. And the characters were pretty interesting.
And just two thing about Numb3rs that just came to my mind:
1. One of the funniest David/Colby scenes is when they're waiting for the power station to be attacked and Colby is talking about Megan/Larry. That just made my day.
2. How do you like Liz? (I think I just realized what I like about her: She makes Don smile.)

See I just think that the writers fell in love with it a bit too much. And now they're too lazy to change. Also they like being able to pull their themes from history.

They're just so annoying because they're written as stupid. Also, which one's Colm Meaney?

Yeah, he's so cute and not understanding! :P

I don't like her at all. They got off on kind of a sleazy start, and things have just gone downhill from there. Don ignores her until she's like "I'm not sure about this..." and I think he's only dating her because it's easy and he doesn't want to be alone, and dating another agent, especially one he works with so closely is really easy, since she'll understand when he has to run, and maybe will have to run with him.

Yeah, he's so cute and not understanding! :P
The not understanding makes him even more cute. Btw, I'm finished with rewatching all Numb3rs episodes. And I had to cry again. :-\
I don't like her at all.
I've got the impression that I'm alone with my opinion. But I totally can understand why you don't like her. I don't know why, but I liked her from the very first episode. I actually was afraid that they would kill her off at the end of the season. I'm wondering what they are doing with this whole thing in the next season.

Awww. *hugs* Septmenber isn't *that* far away.

I've seen a few people that like her. But the thing with canon pairings is that if you're a shipper or a slasher they tend to ruin your fun. Also, girls tend to get jealous since they want it to be *them* jumping Don's bones. :P
Just as a whole though, her character doesn't do much for me. There have been a few instances where I've wanted to smack her upside the head, and most of the other times I don't really care about her. *shrugs*

Actually, on one of the groups I'm on (right in the middle of a post about other things completely) someone said that they had heard a spoiler that a female agen was going to be dying in Don's arms this season. Everyone assumed it'd be Liz, and I was very happy. I would gleefully wait for it to happen every episode she appeared. I was actually pretty disappointed when it didn't happen. Mostly because I'm an angst whore, and the thought of her dying in Don's arms.... boy, there's *got* to be some good angst out of that.
I'm wondering what they are doing with this whole thing in the next season.
God, probably something stupid and dismissive like they did with that girlfriend from last season. She's just going to be transferred or something. *rolls eyes*

Septmenber isn't *that* far away.
But I'm actually afraid that I even have to wait longer if I end up in the middle of nowhere. Most jobs start in September and I hope to have found one till then.

Just the imagination makes me really sad, not the fact that Liz is dead but Don being all sad. I better not think about it any longer. But when they're finished with the whole Colby storyline, they'll probably create some new drama. ^^

I never really watched DS9 (just the Next Gen) but I do associate him with Star Trek. And Muppet Treasure Island. :P

That's what downloads are for. Or at the very least, friends who can download and then mail them to you. You're going to bring a computer with you right?

Aww, I'm sorry I made you sad. But seriously, sad fic can be *good*. Some of my favourite fics make me cry like a baby every time I read them. :)
PS. Have you heard about all the LJ being closed down for abuse?

That's what downloads are for.
Hehe, I live of downloads. I think there are only two shows left that I watch on German tv. :D
You're going to bring a computer with you right?
The problem is that I have a desktop computer and not a laptop. And I can't afford to buy one. That's why I like to stay in Europe. My sister could rent a car and drive me there with my pc and stuff.
PS. Have you heard about all the LJ being closed down for abuse?
I've heard rumours. And they seem to be true. A friend just posted something about it. Perhaps I'm gonna repost it.
