Flashbacks and Music
7/5/09 06:53So, I think you guys might get bombarded with vidding posts for the next little while.
I've been thinking about my Big Bang vid. The story has Sam and Dean going on a road trip, and that's where it starts, but there's also back story being explained while they're in the car, since it's already an established relationship.
I was thinking that the beginning of my vid would kind of follow that idea with Sam and Dean on the road trip with flashbacks to show how they got to that point.
So, to the vidders and vid watchers on my flist, what's a good way to show that a clip is a flashback? I know that a lot of people change the colour of the clip (to black and white, sepia, etc.) but I kind of hate it when people do that. At the moment I'm leaning towards feathering the edges of the clip, but I'm not sure how that's going to look. Anyone have some suggestions?
I'm also trying to pick out the music right now. :S Last year the song came to me almost immediately and I was off to the races. No such luck this time. I'm leaning towards instrumental music, since it's easier to tell the fic's story without lyrics vying for attention. I kind of want something with a slower beginning, to show the boys discovering each other as they discover America, with a climax towards the end where they discover the supernatural, but damn that's hard to find. Anyone have suggestions for that?
