So, I had a goal to be in the top 15 of amplificathon this year. I knew winning the whole thing was beyond my reach, not with people racking in more than a thousand points (I'm looking at you diane_mckay). Doing crossovers and rare fandoms however is a great way to bring in extra points. I have an Old Spice crossover extravaganza podfic that's currently under 30 minutes but is worth about 100 points. :P

This afternoon while waiting for Undercover to upload, I recorded a couple short crossover fics and here they are.

I actually finished this one a while back but it was such a struggle for me to make I wasn't really ready to put it out there yet. I'm not 100% satisfied with it, but short of starting the whole thing over I think this is as good as it's going to get. :)

There are a million fannish things I should be doing right now, replying to comments being at the top of that list. But I got some news today and started distracting myself talking to choosetolive about vids.

Many of the people on this flist probably don't know that I'm a vidder (or, I was, it's been forever). I adore vids, even though I haven't been watching that many lately. Does AI fandom have much of a vid fandom? An LJ vid fandom? (that makes me sound like a snob, it's just, I grew up, fannishly, on LJ vidding aesthetics and haven't put the time into adapting to YouTube aesthetics yet.)

There are probably a bunch of awesome vids I'm missing but podfic has taken over my focus so I missed them. choosetolive doesn't really watch vids so other than Beautiful Dirty Rich and Tightrope (which I only knew about because of Vividcon) we weren't really able to come up with anything (recs are totally welcome if anyone has some).

Since we don't have many fandoms in common, I started sending her vids where you don't really have to know the source to appreciate. Then I though, ( why not share them! )

So, one of the things I like about RPF is that I don't have to keep up with canon. I don't actually enjoy watching TV most of the time so not having a show to keep up with is nice. If you really want to keep up with "canon" in RPF it's sooooo much work that mostly I just ignore it completely. I'm happy to pick up little pieces of canon from fic.

Except, I got the crazy idea to write an AI fic for NaNo :S Now the scattered canon is going to be the death of me. God. And like, while I'm sort of doing an AU, it`s still following the Idol timeline.

God I regret not watching the show live, I have such a crappy concept of the timeline.

Like, when did Adam start dating Drake?

Or, like, I just rewatched the episode where Adam, Kris and Allison got into the top 13 and Ryan asked Kris if he had watched his performance and when he said no, Ryan remarked that Kris had been working. I vaguely recall an interview (maybe?) where Kris said he had a job socking shelves?? But damned if I can find it again.

So, anyone on my flist willing to act like as a canon reference for me?

In other fandonly news, I was cheating on my podbang this weekend. I wanted to get some inspiration for my Nano, so decided to read orbedrowned (which I love so much!). It's on my list of fics to podfic so decided if I'm going to read it, I might as well read it out loud. So I got a chunk of that recorded and even started the editing.

I've been pretty happy with my reading lately. I don't know if I'm just in a good groove or if I've just been reading fics well suited to me but I've been getting through my reading with very little stumbling. It's awesome :D

So, I might have mentioned it to a few of you, but I've made it, like, a personal goal to have 50 hours of public podfic in the AI8 RPF fandom by the end of the year. Not 50 hours by me, but 50 hours total.

And because I seemed to have embraced spreadsheets as a way of life, I have a lot of detailed information on the current status of podfic. Since I mentioned this to choose2live, and she mentioned that she doesn't have 35 and a half hours of AI podfic so must be missing some, so I... am posting a chart. Of all the AI8 RPF podfic (ordered in alphabetical order by podficer). If I'm missing any, please, OMG please, let me know and I'll love you forever add it to the list.

As I also mentioned to choose2live, I'm willing to bribe people to help reach this goal. So, if you think you can be bribed into helping, name your price and I'll see what I can do :D

One more thing, if a podfic is labled "Kradam" that means Kradam is a pairing in it, but it may not be the main pairing or there may be other non-Kradam pairings. Like Building Jerusalem is more Adam/Katy/Kris, for example. Clicking the link should give you more info.

It seems like forever since I've made a post just for the sake of posting. I haven't really been on LJ that much in the past year. I have been pretty active in Twitter if anyone wants to friend me there (I'm paraka12 over there).

I'm seriously thinking of giving up any claim to the thought of a RL from now until the end of the year and just devoting myself entirely to fannish things. God. I have issues with over commiting. Seriously.

Fannish things I'm currently working on:
-Running multipodicity (things are kinda of quiet right now, but I'm anticipating some crazy pinch hits near it's end)

-Signed up for podbang. Twice *winces* I did it last year and it was awesome. Although this year I'm pretty much only into Kradam but I signed up as part of grou slashpad so I'm likely going to have to do something non-AI for that one.

-I offered myself up over at help_pakistan

-Still slowly working on (this is not) a statement (seperis mentioned tonight that she has about 50k written in sequels, so if I plan on podficing this 'verse, I better get my ass in gear). I'm hoping that when I go back to this I can get it to move a little more smoothly. I was having trouble getting some of the dialogue to work, since things that were easy to follow visually were getting a bit confusing in the podfic, but I spoke to seperis about it at Vividcon and she gave me the go ahead to make edits to the text where needed. Yay! for extra dialog tags.

-I've also started to podfic Husband Revealing Magical Lemonade. When I asked permission, I mentioned I probably wouldn't have time until December/January but I just couldn't wait to get started.

-I've somehow managed to start organizing a multi person anthology podfic of oldspice_kinkmeme fics. *blinks*

-Slashpad is also slowly working on a 100+K SGA podfic. I have no idea when it'll be done though. At this rate? Never.

-I spent last night trolling through the lastes aianonlovefest prompts and picking a couple interesting ones out and may try my hand at one of them to get me into the groove of writing fic because next weekend is 3 day novel! and I think I'm going to try and get some of that Kradam love at first sight touch fic written.


So yes, I have a lot of fannish stuff on the go right now :S So when, at work, my boss sent out an email asking for people to do overtime, I just deleted it. Then she pulled me aside and was all "but you're the best at this, are you sure you can't make some time?" And because I have issues with over commiting, I agreed to take on an extra project for over time. Except I have no time for it! The only day this week I could do it was today. I was given about 200 lines to crossrefernce. In the two hours of overtime I did today, I got about 10 lines done. Kill me now. This project needs to be done next week and at this rate I'd have to give up sleep to get it done. But that's not everything. Monday, I'm leaving for Guelph straight after work because on Tuesday raxhel is defending her Master's thesis! Which means I have Tuesday off. And Wednesday is the first day I'm volunteering at a place called Voice Print. So it's due Friday and I'll be able to work on it Thursday.
*sigh* Which means I'll likely spend this Sunday at work (I can't go in Saturday since I'm having friends over for a party).

Seriously, I'm so screwed.
